Wedding Car Hire at Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara, Gravesend
Rolls-Royce Wedding Cars for an Anand Karaj at Guru Nanak Darbar
A wedding at Guru Nanak Darbar is a full day, and the wedding car needs to be planned with that in mind. We have provided transport for Sikh weddings here over many years, from early-morning bridal collections through the Anand Karaj, photographs and Vidai to later reception journeys and, on some occasions, the final journey home.
Guru Nanak Darbar is one of the largest Gurdwara complexes outside India, with three prayer halls and two langar halls. It is a magnificent setting for a wedding, but what matters to us is knowing how the day works in practice: being punctual for an early collection, positioning the cars properly when the Gurdwara is busy, allowing enough time for photographs, keeping space for clothing and belongings, and understanding that a wedding which begins at 7 or 8 in the morning may still need the same car late in the evening.
Early Morning Collections – Ready When the Day Begins
Early starts are completely familiar to our chauffeurs. A 7am or 8am bridal collection is normal for the Sikh weddings we cover, and the importance of that first collection is understood.
If your agreed collection time is 8am, the Rolls-Royce is planned to be there and ready for 8am. The vehicle is prepared beforehand and the chauffeur's own start and travelling time are worked backwards from your booking. On a day with so much still to come, the first journey should begin calmly and on time.
The traditional timing of the Anand Karaj also fits naturally with the morning start. Sikh sources describe the ceremony as normally taking place in the first half of the day, while the four Laavan are central to the Anand Karaj. Guru Nanak Darbar has its own dedicated Anand Karaj team which works with families on timings, parking, food, photography and the practical arrangements for the day.
Arriving at Guru Nanak Darbar
Vehicle access to Guru Nanak Darbar is good. The practical consideration on a wedding day is simply that a large Gurdwara can become very busy when family and guests arrive.
For the main bridal car, we recommend asking the Gurdwara to keep a suitable space available. Guru Nanak Darbar lists 129 spaces in its rear car park, additional council parking nearby and dedicated disabled bays, and its Anand Karaj planning process specifically includes car parking, ushers and security.
For longer vehicles, our experience is useful. Hummer and Baby Bentley limousines can usually wait alongside the car park around the area also used for coach drop-offs. Where several cars are being used, we prefer to know the complete transport plan so the vehicles can be coordinated rather than treated as unrelated journeys.
A Full Sikh Wedding Day – 10, 12 Hours and Beyond
Sikh wedding-car bookings are often genuinely full-day commitments. The same car can be required for the early bridal collection, the Gurdwara, photographs, Vidai, an onward journey, clothing changes and a later reception. Some couples then keep the car for the final journey home.
Ten hours is common in our experience, but 12 hours or more is regularly requested and some days extend to 14 or 16 hours. With so much happening in one day, that isn't unusual.
Don't be afraid to ask us for a price for a 12-hour or longer booking. A longer day does not mean taking a short-hire price and multiplying it by every hour the car is reserved. There can be substantial waiting between journeys, so we look at the complete itinerary, travelling involved and overall commitment. Depending on the day, the price may be much closer to our 10-hour package than you might expect.
The simplest approach is to send us the whole schedule. We can then price the wedding as one complete booking rather than trying to bolt several journeys together.
Allow Proper Time for Photographs
Guru Nanak Darbar is a huge and impressive backdrop, and couples tend to take plenty of photographs here. The wedding car often becomes part of those photographs, particularly with a Phantom, Ghost or Cullinan positioned against the scale and architecture of the Gurdwara.
It is worth allowing real time for this rather than treating photographs as a few spare minutes between parts of the day. If the schedule moves slightly, the photography and Vidai should not suddenly feel rushed because the car was booked too tightly.
Planning Around the Vidai
The Vidai is one of the key transport points of the day. From the weddings we have covered at Guru Nanak Darbar, around 2pm is common, although we have also had departures closer to 4pm.
The important thing is flexibility. Family moments do not always run to an exact minute, and the chauffeur should understand that the car is there to work around the wedding rather than make an important part of the day feel hurried.
After the Vidai, the couple may travel home, continue to another family commitment or move on to an evening reception. This is why knowing the complete itinerary before the wedding helps us plan the chauffeur and vehicle properly.
Clothes Changes, Belongings and Boot Space
A long Sikh wedding day can involve a change of clothes between different parts of the celebration, as well as shoes, bags and other essentials that need to travel with the couple.
Our chauffeurs are familiar with this, and where boot space is required we keep it available for clothing and other necessities. Please request the space when booking so it is specifically allowed for and not overlooked, particularly if you know several outfits or larger bags will be travelling.
It is a small detail at the quotation stage, but halfway through a 12-hour wedding day it can be extremely useful.
Water, Food and Getting Through a Long Day
One of the most practical pieces of advice we can give from watching long wedding days is to remember to look after yourselves.
With an early start, photographs, family, clothing changes and a full programme through to the evening, brides and grooms can become so busy that eating and drinking get pushed aside. Headaches and migraines are something we have seen on long wedding days, and being tired, hungry or dehydrated can make an already demanding day much harder.
We provide water in our Rolls-Royces. Take the opportunities you have to drink, and try to eat during the day even when everything around you is moving quickly. Sometimes the journey in the wedding car is one of the few quiet moments the couple gets.
Langar and a Venue That Looks After Everyone
One of the things we have always appreciated about working at Guru Nanak Darbar is the welcome extended to everyone. Langar is based on equality and is open irrespective of religion, background, caste, colour, age, gender or social status. The food is vegetarian, and chauffeurs waiting at the Gurdwara are welcome to go inside and eat too.
For a driver allocated to a wedding from early morning into the afternoon or evening, that hospitality genuinely matters. There are also shops around the area, which is useful during a long wait.
Keeping the Rolls-Royce Into the Evening
For some couples, the Vidai is not the end of the wedding-car booking. The same Rolls-Royce may be required again for an evening reception and sometimes for a final journey home around 10pm or 11pm.
That can be arranged. If you would like the car to remain available throughout the day, tell us from the beginning. It is normally better to quote the complete wedding than to treat the evening as a separate last-minute journey.
A very long booking also doesn't mean the Rolls-Royce is driving continuously for 12, 14 or 16 hours. Much of the day may be waiting, but the car and chauffeur remain reserved for you. That is why it is always worth asking us for the full-day price rather than assuming it will be excessive.
Choosing Wedding Cars for Guru Nanak Darbar
The Rolls-Royce Phantom and Ghost are particularly well suited to Guru Nanak Darbar, combining rear-seat comfort for a long day with the presence couples want for the arrival and photographs. The Cullinan offers a more contemporary alternative and also works beautifully against a venue of this scale.
For larger wedding parties, the main bridal Rolls-Royce can be combined with additional Rolls-Royces, our 8-seat Gen 2 Baby Bentley limousine, 16-seat Hummer H2 limousine or Mercedes V-Class.
The vehicles do not necessarily need to be booked for identical hours. Once we know who needs to travel, when they need to arrive and which vehicles are required later in the day, we can build the transport around the wedding rather than simply keeping every vehicle for the same period.
Rolls-Royce Wedding Car Prices for Guru Nanak Darbar
For a Rolls-Royce Phantom, Ghost or Silver Cloud, our current longer wedding packages include:
6-Hour Wait & Return – £595
8-Hour Full-Day Hire – £650
10-Hour Extended Full-Day Hire – £800
Many Sikh weddings at Guru Nanak Darbar need longer than ten hours. For 12, 14 or even longer bookings, please ask us to quote the complete itinerary. Longer hire is not simply calculated by multiplying a short-hire rate, and the additional cost may be considerably less than you expect.

Wedding Transport at a Gurdwara We Know Well
Guru Nanak Darbar isn't on this website simply because it is a prominent Sikh wedding venue. It is a Gurdwara we know from actually providing wedding transport here.
We know the rhythm of the early start and the importance of punctuality. We know how busy the site can become, where longer limousines can usually wait, why the photographer needs enough time, how the Vidai can move, and why boot space, water and a chauffeur who understands a long day can matter more than they first appear.
That experience is what we use when planning your booking.
Guru Nanak Darbar Wedding Car Hire FAQs
What time can you collect the bride for a Guru Nanak Darbar wedding?
Early-morning collections are normal for us. If your booking is agreed for 7am or 8am, the chauffeur's day is planned around having the car prepared and ready for that collection time.
Can I book a Rolls-Royce for 12 hours or longer?
Yes. Ten, 12 and longer bookings are common for the Sikh weddings we cover. Some wedding days extend to 14 or 16 hours depending on the reception and final journey.
How much is 12-hour Rolls-Royce wedding hire?
It depends on the vehicle, itinerary and travelling involved, but please ask us before assuming it will be substantially more than the 10-hour package. Long wedding days contain significant waiting time and we price the complete commitment rather than simply multiplying a short-hire hourly rate.
Should we reserve a space for the bridal car at Guru Nanak Darbar?
We recommend asking the Gurdwara to keep a suitable space available. Access is good, but a large wedding naturally brings a lot of vehicles and guests, so having the bridal-car position planned in advance makes the arrival easier.
Can a Hummer or Baby Bentley limousine wait at Guru Nanak Darbar?
Yes. In our experience, longer limousines can usually wait alongside the car park around the coach drop-off area rather than needing to remain in the main flow of wedding traffic.
Can we keep clothes and belongings in the Rolls-Royce?
Yes, where agreed. We understand that clothing changes and additional belongings can be part of a long Sikh wedding day. Please request boot space when booking so we can make sure it is kept available for you.
What happens if our Vidai is later than expected?
This is one reason we recommend booking sensible time around the complete wedding. Around 2pm is common in our experience, but we have also had Vidai departures closer to 4pm. A properly planned full-day booking gives the day room to move without making an important family moment feel rushed.
Can the same Rolls-Royce take us to our evening reception and home afterwards?
Yes. We can quote the complete itinerary, including the evening reception and a later final journey. We have covered weddings where the same car remains allocated through to a journey home around 10pm or 11pm.
Do you provide water in the wedding car?
Yes. We provide water in our Rolls-Royces. On a long wedding day, make time to eat and stay hydrated whenever you can; it is surprisingly easy for the couple to forget when the day becomes busy.
Do you provide several vehicles for large Sikh weddings?
Yes. The bridal Rolls-Royce can be combined with additional Rolls-Royces, an 8-seat Baby Bentley limousine, 16-seat Hummer H2 or Mercedes V-Class. We can plan different hire lengths for different vehicles if that better suits the wedding.
My Sikh wedding is at another Gurdwara. Can you still help?
Yes. Guru Nanak Darbar is one of the Gurdwaras we know particularly well, but our Sikh wedding transport is not limited to Gravesend. Send us the full itinerary and we can advise on the vehicles, timings and hire period that make sense.
