Wedding Car Hire at The Moat, Wrotham

The Moat is proof that you do not need an enormous country house or a mile-long private driveway to make a memorable wedding entrance. In fact, one of the things we particularly like about bringing a Rolls-Royce here is just how visible the arrival can be.

We have provided wedding transport at The Moat with both our Rolls-Royce Phantom and Cullinan. For a relatively intimate venue, the entrance gives the car a surprisingly big moment: you turn directly off the A20 into the venue and car park, and there is very little opportunity for the bridal car to slip in unnoticed. When the Rolls-Royce arrives, people tend to see it arrive.

For couples who have chosen The Moat for its character and relaxed atmosphere but still want one genuinely grand moment before the ceremony, it works extremely well.

At The Moat, the Arrival Really Matters

There are wedding venues where the car travels along a long driveway, disappears behind the building and drops the bride somewhere most guests never see. The Moat is rather different.

The entrance comes directly off the A20 into the venue and parking area. From a wedding-car point of view, that gives the arrival much more presence than you might expect from a smaller venue.

The Phantom gives you the long, unmistakable Rolls-Royce wedding-car presence. The Cullinan is taller and more imposing and makes a particularly bold entrance. We have used both here and neither feels out of place.

That matters because The Moat itself is not about excessive grandeur. Its historic barn, gardens and relaxed setting have a more intimate character. A beautiful Rolls-Royce outside gives you a lovely contrast: a big arrival without needing a huge formal venue around it.

Spend the Money on the Part of the Day You Will Remember

One of the attractions of The Moat is that it can leave couples with choices. It offers a lot of character without necessarily demanding the sort of venue budget associated with some of the larger country-house estates and luxury hotels across Kent and Surrey.

If making an entrance matters to you, that can leave room in the wedding budget for the car you really want.

And because the ceremony and reception can both take place here, you do not necessarily need to hire that car for half the day. Sometimes it makes far more sense to spend the money on a Phantom or Cullinan for the journey and arrival you will remember than to pay for several unnecessary hours of waiting.

It is a simple idea, but one we believe in: choose the car you really want, enjoy the journey and make the arrival count.

Why One-Way Wedding Car Hire Often Makes Sense Here

The Moat is licensed for civil ceremonies in its historic barn, so many couples can hold the ceremony and reception in the same place. From a transport point of view, that makes the day wonderfully straightforward.

We collect the bride from home, a hotel or wherever she is getting ready, allow proper time for the journey and photographs, and bring her into The Moat ready for the ceremony. Once you are married, you are already where you need to be.

Our one-way wedding hire is not treated like a rushed point-to-point transfer. We allow sensible time for getting ready to leave, photographs with the car, the journey itself and a relaxed arrival.

For many weddings at The Moat, that is genuinely enough. If you are marrying at a church first, need another collection or particularly want the Rolls-Royce to remain for photographs, we can simply plan the booking around that instead.

The Car Park Is Large - But It Is Still a Working Venue

The Moat has a substantial car park, and bringing a Phantom or Cullinan onto the site is straightforward. There is one practical point worth knowing from experience, though: a large car park does not necessarily mean an empty car park.

The Moat can have other visitors on site, so there may already be cars coming and going when the bridal car arrives. We take that into account rather than assuming we will have a huge clear area simply because the car park itself is sizeable.

It is a small distinction, but it matters when positioning a large luxury car, opening a coach door and allowing comfortable space for a bride, her dress and photographs. Familiarity with the venue makes those little decisions much easier.

Phantom or Cullinan for The Moat?

We have taken both to The Moat and would happily recommend either.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

The Phantom is the choice for someone who wants the unmistakable traditional Rolls-Royce wedding arrival. Its length and road presence work particularly well as it comes into The Moat, and the rear-hinged coach doors give the bride generous space when getting out, especially with a fuller wedding dress.

Rolls-Royce Cullinan

The Cullinan creates a different impression. It is taller, more contemporary and has a commanding stance. If you want the wedding car to make a bold entrance rather than look traditionally bridal, it is particularly effective here. The higher seating position and generous rear space can also make getting in and out easier with some dresses.

There is no wrong choice between them. It comes down to whether you prefer the classic presence of the Phantom or the more contemporary statement of the Cullinan.

Do Not Forget the Journey Before You Arrive

It is easy to focus entirely on the moment the car turns into The Moat, but some of the nicest moments with a wedding car happen before you reach the venue.

For the bride, the journey is often the first quiet period of the day. The morning may have involved hair, make-up, photographs, family members, flowers, dresses, phones ringing and people asking questions. Then the Rolls-Royce door closes and, for a few minutes, there is very little left to do except travel to the wedding.

We deliberately do not rush that part. If getting the dress into the car takes another couple of minutes, that is normal. If somebody wants one more photograph before you leave, we would rather allow for it than have everyone watching the clock.

The grand arrival matters. Enjoying the journey that gets you there matters too.

Why We Enjoy Weddings at The Moat

After more than 15 years providing wedding transport, you start to appreciate that a good wedding venue is not necessarily the biggest one.

The Moat has character. The old barn, low beams, gardens and rustic surroundings are part of what couples choose it for, but if you are already considering getting married here, you probably do not need us to sell the venue to you.

What we can tell you is what happens outside.

We know what it is like to bring the Phantom and Cullinan into the venue. We know the arrival is unusually visible. We know the car park is substantial but can still contain other visitors. And we know that because you can marry and celebrate in the same place, you may not need to spend hundreds of pounds keeping a wedding car sitting outside for hours.

That is the kind of venue knowledge we think is useful: not simply what The Moat looks like, but how your wedding transport actually fits into the day.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wedding Cars at The Moat

Is The Moat suitable for one-way wedding car hire?

Yes. Because you can hold your civil ceremony and reception at The Moat, many couples only require the bridal car to bring them to the venue. A relaxed one-way booking can therefore make much more sense than automatically booking several hours.

Which Rolls-Royce would you recommend for The Moat?

We have taken both our Phantom and Cullinan here and both work extremely well. The Phantom gives you the more traditional Rolls-Royce wedding-car appearance, while the Cullinan creates a taller, more contemporary and imposing arrival.

Will guests see the wedding car arrive?

Quite possibly - and that is one of the things we like about this venue. The entrance comes directly off the A20 into the venue and parking area, so the bridal car's arrival can be much more visible than at venues where cars disappear along a long private driveway.

Is there enough parking for the Rolls-Royce?

There is a large car park, but other visitors can also be on site. We therefore allow for the possibility that it may be busier than expected rather than assuming there will always be a large empty area available for the wedding car.

Do I need to keep the Rolls-Royce for the whole ceremony?

Not unless you want to. If your ceremony and reception are both at The Moat and you mainly want the Rolls-Royce for the bridal journey and arrival, one-way hire may be sufficient. If photographs with the car afterwards are important, tell us and we can plan a longer booking.

Can you collect from Sevenoaks, Wrotham and surrounding areas?

Yes. We provide wedding transport throughout Sevenoaks, Wrotham and the surrounding Kent, Surrey and South London areas. Your collection can be planned from home, a hotel or wherever you are getting ready.
