Wedding Car Hire at Oaks Farm, Croydon

There is something rather special about arriving at Oaks Farm in a Rolls-Royce. You are still in Shirley, remarkably close to Croydon and the main London routes, yet once you reach the venue the trees, gardens, flowers and foliage make it feel far removed from the city.

We know Oaks Farm from providing wedding transport there, and it is a venue we genuinely enjoy. It is intimate without feeling small, beautiful without feeling overdone, and the way the wedding day flows makes it particularly well suited to a relaxed bridal arrival.

The Arrival at Oaks Farm Is Part of the Experience

Oaks Farm is one of those venues where knowing the final few minutes of the journey really helps. The approach is straightforward until the entrance itself, where the turn into the venue is tight. We can comfortably manage it with our Rolls-Royces and are familiar with the manoeuvre, but it is something we plan for rather than simply arriving and hoping for the best.

The venue is approached from Oaks Road. Although the postal address is Oaks Lane, vehicle access is not from Upper Shirley Road, and the venue recommends CR0 5HL for sat-nav. Our chauffeurs plan the correct approach before the journey.

A stretch limousine is different. The length and turning circle can make that final turn difficult, so depending on the limo it may be more sensible to drop immediately outside the entrance. We would always rather explain that beforehand than put a long vehicle into an awkward position on the wedding day.

A Lovely, Private Bridal Drop-Off

The Rolls-Royce will usually come up to the main house, away from the guests waiting for the ceremony. This is one of the things we particularly like about the venue.

Rather than arriving straight into a crowd, the bride can step out in a quieter part of the venue and is normally met and ushered inside by the Oaks Farm team. It gives her a moment to arrive, sort the dress and prepare before making the entrance everyone is waiting for.

That small separation between the car arrival and the guests works beautifully. The Rolls-Royce still gives you the grand arrival and photographs, but the actual moment before the ceremony can remain private.

Why One-Way Wedding Car Hire Often Works So Well Here

Oaks Farm is licensed for civil ceremonies, and many couples hold the whole wedding in one place. The ceremony can take place in the Stable or outside in the gardens, followed by drinks, the wedding breakfast and the evening celebration without everybody having to move to another venue.

That means we will quite often recommend a one-way Rolls-Royce booking rather than selling a couple several hours of car hire they do not really need.

Our one-way wedding hire is not treated like a quick taxi-style transfer. We allow sensible time for the occasion: getting ready to leave, photographs at the collection address if wanted, the journey itself, arriving without rushing and photographs with the car at Oaks Farm.

If the ceremony and reception are both here, that can be all the wedding transport you need.

Or Keep the Rolls-Royce Until After the Ceremony

There is a second option that works particularly nicely at Oaks Farm. If photographs with the car after the ceremony are important to you, the Rolls-Royce can be booked to wait while you get married.

Once the ceremony is over, the car only needs to move roughly 50 metres in our experience to come closer to the main reception and drinks area. You can then have photographs as a married couple with the Rolls-Royce, the gardens and the venue around you.

It is a good example of planning the car around the wedding rather than automatically choosing a package by the number of hours. Tell us what you would actually like the car to be part of and we can suggest the sensible option.

A Beautiful Setting for Wedding Car Photographs

Oaks Farm photographs extremely well because there is so much greenery around the venue. Mature trees, cottage-style gardens, flowers and softer natural backgrounds give a very different feel from a hotel forecourt or a large city venue.

A white Phantom or Ghost stands out beautifully against all that greenery, while the Silver Cloud feels completely at home in the more traditional surroundings. The Cullinan gives a bolder modern look, and the Dawn can be wonderful for a summer wedding.

We never like to rush the photography simply because the booking is one way. If having pictures with the car matters to you, mention it when booking so we can build sensible time into the arrival.

Which Wedding Cars Work Best at Oaks Farm?

Our Rolls-Royce Phantom and Ghost are probably the easiest choices for Oaks Farm. Both give the bride plenty of space in the rear, look superb in the gardens and, importantly, are vehicles we know how to bring through the venue's tighter entrance.

The Silver Cloud is a particularly charming match for the setting if you prefer a classic wedding car. The Cullinan gives you the height and presence of a modern luxury SUV, while the Dawn offers something more open and celebratory in good weather.

For a larger bridal party we can arrange additional vehicles, but we would plan a stretch limousine separately. A limo does not necessarily need to follow the Rolls-Royce through the entrance; dropping the bridal party immediately outside can be the much more sensible solution.

Oaks Farm Wedding Car Prices

For a wedding where the ceremony and reception are both at Oaks Farm, these one-way prices are usually the most relevant starting point:

Vehicle One-Way Wedding Hire
Rolls-Royce Phantom £395
Rolls-Royce Ghost £395
Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud £395
Rolls-Royce Cullinan £595
Rolls-Royce Dawn £595
Gen 2 Baby Bentley 8-Seater Limo £295
Hummer H2 16-Seater Limo £450

If you are marrying at a church first, want the Rolls-Royce to remain until after the ceremony, have additional collections or need an onward journey, we can price the actual itinerary rather than squeezing it into the wrong package.

Close to Croydon, Yet It Doesn't Feel Like Croydon

This is probably what we like most about Oaks Farm. You do not have to travel deep into Surrey or Kent to get the feeling of a secluded garden wedding.

Oaks Farm is less than two miles east of Croydon town centre, yet when you arrive for a wedding the surroundings feel remarkably removed from the busy roads and buildings nearby. The venue is exclusive to the wedding, and the Stable, Barn, Orangery, Orchard Cottage and gardens create a natural flow from ceremony to drinks and reception.

For us as wedding-car operators, it is also a venue where the practical details matter. We know the correct approach. We know the entrance is tight. We know where we normally bring the bride in. We know that a Rolls-Royce can make the turn and that a stretch limousine may be better outside. And we know that if the car stays through the ceremony, it only needs a very short move to become part of the photographs afterwards.

Those are small things when written down. On the wedding day, they are exactly the sort of small things you do not want to be figuring out for the first time.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wedding Cars at Oaks Farm

Can a Rolls-Royce get into Oaks Farm?

Yes. The final turn into Oaks Farm is tight, but we know the approach and are comfortable bringing our Rolls-Royce wedding cars into the venue. It is one of the reasons using a chauffeur who is familiar with Oaks Farm can be useful.

Can a stretch limousine get into Oaks Farm?

A long stretch limousine can struggle with the final turn. Depending on the vehicle, we may recommend dropping passengers on the road immediately outside the venue rather than trying to force a limo through an unsuitable angle.

Where does the bride get dropped off?

We usually bring the Rolls-Royce up near the main house, away from the waiting guests. The bride can then be met by the venue team and ushered inside before the ceremony.

Do we need a three-hour wedding car package?

Not necessarily. If you are having your ceremony and reception at Oaks Farm, a relaxed one-way bridal journey may be all you need. We would rather recommend the right amount of hire than sell extra hours simply because they are available.

Can the Rolls-Royce stay for photographs after the ceremony?

Yes, subject to availability and the agreed booking. We have had the car wait during the ceremony and then move the short distance towards the reception and drinks area so the couple can have photographs with it afterwards.

Is Oaks Farm suitable for an all-in-one wedding day?

Yes. The ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening celebration can all take place at Oaks Farm. This is one of the reasons the transport can be refreshingly simple compared with weddings involving a church, separate photography stop and reception venue.

What postcode should we give the chauffeur?

The venue's postal address is Oaks Lane, but vehicle access is from Oaks Road. Oaks Farm recommends CR0 5HL for sat-nav so that drivers approach from the correct side. We plan the approach ourselves when preparing the booking.

Do you cover collections around Croydon, South London and Surrey?

Yes. Oaks Farm sits right in our core operating area. We regularly provide wedding transport across Croydon, South London, Surrey and the surrounding areas, so collections can be planned around your actual home, hotel or getting-ready address.
