Ashford Surrey Prom Car Hire – Rolls-Royce, Supercars & Limousines
A special car at the door, everyone dressed up, cameras at the ready. Let the journey to prom be something to remember.
There's a lovely moment on prom day when all the preparations finally come together. The outfits are ready, friends are gathering at the house, and parents are trying to get everyone into one photograph. Then the car arrives, and suddenly there are even more pictures to take.
We love being part of that excitement. At Hire a Rolls Royce, we've been looking after wedding, prom and special-occasion journeys for more than fifteen years. We provide chauffeur-driven cars and limousines around Ashford in Surrey, including Ashford Common, Stanwell, Staines-upon-Thames, Sunbury and Shepperton.
And just to avoid the occasional mix-up: this is Ashford TW15, near Heathrow and Staines, not Ashford in Kent. Both towns have their own schools, local journeys and prom plans.
We've taken prom students to Oatlands Park Hotel, Sandown Park and Foxhills. They're three very different places, and knowing them from behind the wheel helps us plan the arrival as well as the journey. We want students to enjoy their entrance and parents to feel confident that the arrangements have been thought through.

Travelling together? Here's what sharing can cost
Per person for one-hour hire when all 16 seats are filled.
Per person for one-hour hire when all eight seats are filled.
For a group of friends, the fun often starts the moment everyone climbs aboard. Sharing a limousine means arriving together rather than meeting outside the venue after separate journeys.
Something elegant, something exciting, or room for everyone?
One of the nicest things about prom season is seeing how different everyone's tastes are. Some students have always wanted a Rolls-Royce. Others are excited by the sound and styling of a performance car, while a group of friends may have their hearts set on a limousine.
Our Phantom and Ghost offer that unmistakable Rolls-Royce presence. The Cullinan is a striking choice for students who like a commanding SUV, while the Dawn brings a different kind of glamour. For a more traditional look, the Silver Cloud has a character all of its own.
Then there's the Lamborghini Urus, Nissan GTR and Toyota Supra MK4 for the car enthusiasts. Our Hummer H2, Baby Bentley and Mercedes V-Class give friends the chance to travel together.
We always suggest thinking about the whole evening, not simply choosing a car from a photograph. Passenger numbers, outfits, collection points and the venue itself all matter. A car that suits the journey will make the occasion much more enjoyable.
Oatlands Park Hotel – country-house elegance near Weybridge
146 Oatlands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey KT13 9HB
Oatlands Park is one of those places where the surroundings do much of the work. We've brought prom students here, and the first impression is always a good one: a beautiful country-house hotel, mature trees, well-kept lawns and an elegant building that seems made for a formal occasion.
The hotel sits in ten acres of landscaped parkland overlooking Broadwater Lake. It's a four-star hotel with a history stretching back to the eighteenth century, and the setting has a sense of occasion without needing anything added to it.
Why we enjoy bringing students here
For us, Oatlands is about the photographs as much as the arrival. A white Rolls-Royce looks lovely against the historic building and greenery, and students in their prom outfits fit the scene beautifully. It's a softer, more romantic backdrop than a large modern events building.
We've seen how much the surroundings matter when families look back at their pictures. At Oatlands, there's a real sense of place: you remember the building, the trees and the occasion, not just the car.
A little planning makes the arrival easier
Oatlands is also a working hotel, so other guests and functions may be taking place. Its event team can help organise the celebration itself, but we always follow the particular school's instructions for where vehicles should arrive and stop.
Our advice is to take the family photographs at home first, without anyone feeling rushed. If the organisers allow photographs in the grounds, make the most of them, but don't rely on having unrestricted access to every part of the estate.
It's a beautiful destination for students who want a more traditional, elegant setting for their big evening.
Sandown Park – when the arrival becomes part of the show
Portsmouth Road, Esher, Surrey KT10 9AJ
If Oatlands feels like an elegant house party, Sandown Park is a different experience altogether. It's grand, busy and full of atmosphere. We've taken students to proms here, and the sheer variety of vehicles can be a sight in itself.
On a big prom evening you'll see everything from immaculate classics to modern supercars and long stretch limousines. It's great fun watching the students spot each other's cars as they approach. The racecourse can accommodate celebrations of up to around 400 guests, and its scale suits that kind of occasion.
The journey through the gates
One thing we've always appreciated at the events we've attended is the way arrivals are managed. Security staff guide prom cars in from Portsmouth Road, and the vehicles make their way towards the entrance in an orderly procession.
It's a lovely slow approach. Students can see the grandstand coming into view, look at the other cars and enjoy the build-up before the chauffeur opens the door. We've experienced red-carpet welcomes here, with drinks waiting as students go inside. That first step out of the car can feel like a real event.
What we'd tell parents
At Sandown, don't plan the journey as though the car will drive straight to the front door and leave within seconds. On busy evenings there may be a queue or a controlled approach, and the security team's instructions come first.
We recommend allowing enough time and taking the main family photographs before setting off. There are impressive places around the racecourse for pictures, but access depends on the event organisers and the areas they have opened to guests.
For students who want excitement, a grand entrance and the chance to see some extraordinary cars, Sandown really does deliver.
Foxhills – a lovely drive through the grounds
Stonehill Road, Ottershaw, Surrey KT16 0EL
We've also taken students to Foxhills, and what stays with us is the approach. As you drive towards the main building, greenery lines the road on both sides. It's a calm, attractive journey through the estate, and you can almost feel the anticipation building inside the car.
Foxhills is a substantial country club and hotel with golf courses, spa facilities and beautiful grounds. There's plenty going on around the estate, including members and hotel guests, but in our experience that hasn't spoiled the occasion. It still feels spacious and special.
The Clubhouse can accommodate around 180 guests for a dinner and dance, making it a lovely choice for a school prom. As with any hotel or country club, we follow the event's arrangements for stopping and photographs rather than assuming every part of the grounds is available.
Foxhills is a particularly nice choice if students want a grand venue but a gentler, more relaxed approach than the big procession at Sandown.
Schools and leavers' celebrations around Ashford TW15
Prom plans often bring together friends from different parts of Ashford, Staines, Sunbury and Shepperton. By the time the exams are over, students are ready to celebrate, and parents are thinking about everything from outfits and photographs to getting everyone home safely.
We welcome enquiries from families with students at the following schools. Each school makes its own arrangements, so we always ask for the confirmed prom date, venue and arrival time rather than assuming the destination will be the same every year.
Thomas Knyvett College – Ashford
Thomas Knyvett College on Stanwell Road is one of the best-known secondary schools in Ashford itself. For students from the TW15 area, meeting at a family home for photographs before travelling together can make the whole afternoon feel like part of prom.
St James Senior Boys' School – Ashford
St James Senior Boys' School on Church Road is another important local school. For students marking the end of a school year or sixth-form chapter, we can help organise a journey that suits the occasion, whether that's an elegant Rolls-Royce or something more sporty.
The Matthew Arnold School – Staines-upon-Thames
With students from Staines and surrounding neighbourhoods, The Matthew Arnold School is an important part of the wider Ashford area. When friends live at different addresses, we usually suggest choosing one convenient collection point so everyone has time to enjoy the car and the photographs.
The Bishop Wand School – Sunbury-on-Thames
We also welcome enquiries from families with students at The Bishop Wand School in Sunbury. A journey from Sunbury to a venue in Esher or Weybridge needs sensible timing, particularly if the school has organised a set arrival window.
Other nearby schools
Families around Ashford may also have students at St Paul's Catholic College, Sunbury Manor School or Thamesmead School in Shepperton. Whether it's a Year 11 prom or a sixth-form leavers' celebration, we can discuss a suitable vehicle and itinerary once the event details are known.
Collections from Ashford, Stanwell, Staines and nearby areas
We cover Ashford town centre, Ashford Common, Ashford Park, Fordbridge, Stanwell, Stanwell Moor, Staines-upon-Thames, Laleham, Sunbury-on-Thames, Shepperton and nearby communities.
Most prom journeys begin at home. Parents want the photographs, friends want to admire each other's outfits, and everyone wants a moment beside the car before it leaves. We encourage families to enjoy that part of the day.
If several students are sharing a vehicle, one agreed meeting address is usually best. Picking up from house after house can eat into the hire time, and it often means less time for the journey everyone has been looking forward to. If you need additional stops, tell us when enquiring so we can plan them properly.
One-hour hire or the journey home as well?
One-hour hire works well for many local proms. The chauffeur arrives, students have time for photographs and everyone enjoys the journey to the venue. The important thing is allowing enough time for the distance and the arrival arrangements.
Sandown, for example, can have a managed vehicle procession. Oatlands Park may have its own stopping instructions for a particular function. We take these details into account rather than promising an unrealistic schedule.
If you'd prefer not to organise another lift at the end of the evening, our return package includes an agreed collection within the up-to-five-hour arrangement. It's a convenient choice for parents who want the transport planned in advance.
A few things we've learned from years of prom journeys
Give the photographs some breathing room
Someone always wants one more picture. We understand that completely, so we recommend having everyone dressed and ready before the car arrives. That way the photos can be enjoyed without putting the journey behind schedule.
Think about the outfit as well as the car
A low sports car looks fantastic, but a full prom dress may be easier to manage in a Rolls-Royce or limousine. We can help students get in and out carefully, but it's worth choosing something comfortable as well as impressive.
Don't overcomplicate the route
It's tempting to add several stops or collect every friend separately. Often the nicest experience is a relaxed collection from one home, a comfortable journey and a memorable entrance.
Let the venue staff do their job
At places such as Sandown, the security team may control the approach. We follow their directions and the school's instructions, even if the arrangements differ from our previous visits.
Remember what the evening is really about
Years later, students may forget exactly what time they arrived, but they'll remember the excitement outside the house, the journey with friends and the moment they stepped out at prom.
Why families choose Hire a Rolls Royce
We've spent more than fifteen years providing chauffeur-driven cars for weddings, proms and special occasions. This is our specialist work, not an occasional taxi booking.
We own our vehicles, take maintenance and preparation seriously, and welcome enquiries from customers who'd like to arrange a viewing before booking. We know how important punctuality is on a date that can't simply be moved.
Our familiarity with venues such as Oatlands Park, Sandown and Foxhills is useful too. We understand how the approach can affect the timing, why families want photographs before departure and how much the students look forward to arriving in something special.
We don't claim to be the cheapest. Our aim is to provide a professional chauffeur, a carefully prepared vehicle and an experience that feels as good as it looks.
