Burgess Hill Prom Car Hire – Rolls-Royce, Limousines & Sports Cars
There's a wonderful feeling around Burgess Hill when prom season arrives. For months, students have been discussing outfits, organising groups of friends and making plans for that one special evening. Then suddenly the day is here: the suits are ready, the dresses are hanging up, parents are charging their cameras and everyone is waiting for the cars to arrive.
We love being part of it. Having provided luxury chauffeur-driven transport for more than 15 years, we've seen just how much school proms mean to students and their families. They're a celebration of friendships, achievements and the end of an important chapter.
Burgess Hill is beautifully placed for these occasions. With the South Downs nearby, countryside in almost every direction and memorable event venues within easy reach, students have a wonderful choice of places to celebrate.
We've taken prom students from the Burgess Hill area to Hickstead Showground and Tottington Manor. Both have their own character, and both remind us that the journey and arrival can be among the most talked-about moments of the evening.
At Hire a Rolls Royce, our range includes elegant Rolls-Royce cars, stretch limousines, luxury people carriers and exciting performance cars. Whether you're arranging an entrance for one student or bringing friends together, we're here to make the occasion memorable.

Sharing the cost with friends
Arriving together is often half the fun, and splitting the cost of a limousine can make the occasion surprisingly affordable.
Eight friends sharing the £550 one-hour hire equally.
Sixteen friends sharing the £750 one-hour hire equally.
Choosing a prom car that feels right
One of our favourite things about prom season is how different everyone's tastes can be. For some students, nothing compares with the elegance of a Rolls-Royce Phantom or Ghost. Others have dreamed for years of arriving in a Nissan GTR or Toyota Supra. Then there are the groups who simply want to share the excitement with their friends in a Baby Bentley limousine, Hummer H2 or Mercedes V-Class.
The right choice isn't necessarily the most expensive car. It's the one that makes everyone smile when it arrives outside the house. And in Mid Sussex, where a journey might take you from a residential street to a beautiful country venue, the experience can be every bit as enjoyable as the entrance.
Hickstead Showground and the Beethoven Suite – a spectacular Sussex setting
All England Jumping Course, Hickstead, West Sussex BN6 9NS · Venue information
There are very few places around Burgess Hill quite like Hickstead. Internationally known for showjumping, its sweeping showground, well-kept lawns and grandstands create a very different backdrop from a traditional hotel ballroom. We've taken prom students here, and the sense of space is one of the first things that strikes you.
When the cars begin to arrive, the effect can be spectacular. With ample room for vehicles and parking, the showground can accommodate an impressive procession of Rolls-Royces, limousines and performance cars. Students get to enjoy the sight of their friends arriving, while families take in the atmosphere.
The Beethoven Suite – celebrating at Hickstead
The Beethoven Suite is within Hickstead's grandstand complex and is used for celebrations including school proms. Its name reflects the showground's equestrian heritage, and the setting gives students something a little different: a formal evening at a famous sporting venue, surrounded by Sussex countryside.
Horses, cars and photographs to remember
One especially memorable feature from proms we've attended in previous years was the opportunity for students to have photographs taken with horses. Beautiful outfits, magnificent animals and luxury cars made an extraordinary combination. That was some years ago, so horse access or photography must not be assumed to be available now; any arrangements need approval from the venue and event organisers.
Even without horses, the manicured lawns and open grounds make an attractive setting wherever photography is permitted. Our advice: follow the school's designated arrival route and check which areas are available for photographs. Take the main family pictures before leaving home, so the journey and entrance can be enjoyed without rushing.
Tottington Manor – a country-house entrance with real charm
Edburton Road, Henfield, West Sussex BN5 9LJ · Venue information
Some venues impress through their size. Tottington Manor does something different. This independent boutique country hotel sits at the foot of the South Downs, with landscaped gardens, countryside views and welcoming spaces for private celebrations. It feels intimate and personal, but it still knows how to make an occasion special.
We've brought prom students here from Burgess Hill, and what stays with us is the approach. After turning off the road, the long, winding drive leads towards the hotel. The building gradually comes into view as the students, already dressed for their big evening, prepare to make their entrance. It's a wonderfully theatrical way to arrive.
An intimate hotel with a grand arrival
Although Tottington Manor is relatively small and quaint, the proms we've attended have had enough space for an organised line-up of vehicles. Cars make their way towards the main doors, where students have enjoyed a red-carpet welcome. The contrast between the quiet countryside surroundings and the excitement of the arriving cars is delightful.
The hotel's own description of its South Downs setting, gardens, restaurant and celebration facilities helps explain the appeal. It has character without needing the scale of a vast conference resort. Our advice: leave a sensible margin for the final drive and any arrival queue, and take your main family photographs at the collection address. Exact red-carpet and vehicle arrangements are decided by each event's organisers.
Other lovely settings around Burgess Hill
Borde Hill – a connection with local school celebrations
Borde Hill, near Haywards Heath, is known for its gardens, historic landscape and elegant countryside surroundings. Burgess Hill Girls previously held a Sixth Form Leavers Ball at Jeremy's at Borde Hill, with garden photographs, dinner, speeches and dancing. Jeremy's has since closed, so this is a historical connection rather than a claim that the former restaurant is still available for prom bookings. It shows how the area's gardens and country estates have long provided a beautiful setting for leaving-school celebrations.
South Lodge – Sussex country-house elegance
South Lodge at Lower Beeding is another distinctive local landmark, with grand architecture, parkland and views towards the Downs. It's an example of the range of celebration settings within reach of Burgess Hill, not a claim that a particular school currently holds its prom there. For any country-house venue, we'd recommend confirming the exact vehicle drop-off point, access arrangements and photography rules with the organisers.
Burgess Hill schools and the excitement of prom season
With students from different schools and neighbouring villages gathering for end-of-year celebrations, prom season creates a real buzz across Mid Sussex. For parents, it's a milestone; for students, it's a chance to celebrate friendships and years of hard work.
The Burgess Hill Academy
With students from The Burgess Hill Academy on Station Road looking forward to their Year 11 celebrations, the practical details matter: the confirmed venue, arrival window and collection address. The academy has documented its leavers' prom, but the location can vary. We recommend arranging photographs and group collections around the school's latest instructions rather than relying on past arrangements.
St Paul's Catholic College
St Paul's Catholic College on Jane Murray Way brings together students from Burgess Hill and surrounding communities, including families from Haywards Heath, Cuckfield and Lindfield. When friends live in different places, one agreed meeting address often works better than several collections. Everyone can gather for pictures, board together and enjoy more of the journey.
Burgess Hill Girls
With students from Burgess Hill Girls on Keymer Road celebrating important milestones, a leavers' ball can be especially meaningful. The school's historical celebration at Borde Hill, complete with garden photographs, a formal meal and dancing, illustrates why these evenings stay with families long after the school year ends.
Neighbouring Mid Sussex schools
We also welcome enquiries from families with students at Downlands Community School in Hassocks, Warden Park Secondary Academy in Cuckfield and other schools around Hurstpierpoint, Ditchling and the wider area. We wouldn't assume that any of these schools uses a particular venue every year; the itinerary should always start with the confirmed event details.
Collections in Burgess Hill and nearby villages
We can arrange prom collections from across Burgess Hill, including the areas around Leylands, World's End, Folders Lane and Keymer Road, as well as Hassocks, Keymer, Hurstpierpoint, Sayers Common, Albourne, Ditchling, Wivelsfield, Ansty and Bolney. A journey to Hickstead is quite different from one involving several stops before heading towards the South Downs, so it pays to agree the route in advance.
For friends sharing a limousine, meeting at one family home is often the nicest arrangement. Parents can take their photographs, everyone gets into the same car and the celebration starts together. Multiple collection points can be discussed, but it's worth considering how much of the hire time they'll use.
One-hour prom hire or a return journey?
One-hour hire
For a straightforward local collection and arrival, one-hour hire may be all you need. There is time for the chauffeur to arrive, for photographs where safe and practical, and for the journey to the venue. A relaxed entrance is often more memorable than spending the booking driving around without a plan.
Return hire
Some families prefer to have the journey home arranged too, especially when the prom is at a countryside venue such as Hickstead or Tottington Manor. A return booking allows the collection time and location to be agreed beforehand, so nobody is trying to organise transport at the end of the evening.
A few things we've learned from more than 15 years of prom hire
Make time for family photographs
The excitement often begins at home. Parents, grandparents and friends gather to admire the outfits and the car. These are pictures people keep for years, so build them into the schedule rather than trying to squeeze them into the final five minutes.
Think about the outfit as well as the car
A low sports car can look fantastic, but a full-length gown may be easier to manage in a spacious Rolls-Royce or limousine. Our chauffeurs are accustomed to helping passengers enter and leave vehicles carefully in formal clothing.
Keep the group together
If several friends are travelling, agree the passenger list and meeting point early. Our Baby Bentley accommodates up to eight passengers and the Hummer H2 up to sixteen; passenger limits must always be respected. One collection point usually makes the evening more relaxed.
Check the event instructions
Even at familiar venues, arrival routes, parking, red carpets and photography arrangements can change from one prom to the next. Send us the school's latest instructions so the journey can be planned around the actual event.
Why families choose Hire a Rolls Royce
Luxury chauffeur-driven transport is what we specialise in. For more than fifteen years we've helped families celebrate weddings, proms and special occasions. We own our vehicles, prepare and maintain them carefully, and welcome enquiries from customers who'd like to arrange a viewing before booking.
Reliability is central to what we do. A prom happens on one particular evening; there's no second chance to get that arrival right. But experience also means understanding the smaller details: giving parents time for photographs, helping students with their outfits, and knowing how a procession of cars at Hickstead or the winding approach to Tottington Manor adds to the occasion.
We don't claim to be the cheapest. We aim to provide a professional, dependable and enjoyable service that students remember and parents can book with confidence.
