Prom season concentrates a lot of demand into a small number of evenings. Phantom, Ghost, Hummer and Baby Bentley bookings can disappear quickly when several schools choose the same date.

Booking early gives you the best chance of securing the exact vehicle you want. Quieter dates can sometimes be easier to accommodate, so it is always worth checking availability rather than assuming every June or July evening will be the same.

Prom Car Hire at Charlton Athletic – The Valley

The Valley is one of the Greenwich-area prom venues we know particularly well. We frequently take prom groups to Charlton Athletic, and it works especially well when friends want to make the journey and arrival part of the night rather than simply meeting at the venue.

The stadium hosts proms and large celebrations, and the amount of space around a football venue makes the experience very different from arriving at a smaller hotel or historic property.

For a group of eight friends, our newer-shape Gen 2 Baby Bentley limousine is a popular fit. For a bigger group, the 16-seat Hummer lets everyone travel together. If the student wants the arrival to be about the car itself, the Phantom, Ghost, Cullinan, Urus, GTR or Supra all create a very different entrance.

Because we have been to The Valley for these occasions many times, we plan the booking around the venue arrival rather than treating Floyd Road as simply another postcode.

Proms at Cutty Sark, Greenwich

Few prom venues give you an arrival quite like Cutty Sark. We have provided prom transport there, and the combination of historic Greenwich, the ship itself and the surrounding riverside setting makes the journey feel like part of the event before students have even gone inside.

Cutty Sark is a major event venue, but from the transport side the important thing is what happens outside. Central Greenwich can be busy and pedestrian-heavy, so the arrival needs to be handled differently from a stadium or suburban hotel.

If your prom is at Cutty Sark, we normally recommend doing most of the photographs at home before setting off. That allows the chauffeur to concentrate on getting you into Greenwich comfortably and at the right time rather than trying to turn a busy drop-off into a lengthy photo session.

A Rolls-Royce, Cullinan or performance car gives a dramatic individual arrival, while the Baby Bentley or Hummer is ideal when a group wants to enjoy the journey together.

Prom Car Hire at The Clarendon Hotel, Blackheath

The Clarendon is another venue we know from both proms and weddings. Its position on Blackheath, close to Greenwich Park, makes it a natural choice for students coming from Greenwich, Blackheath, Kidbrooke, Lewisham and the surrounding area.

There is one practical detail worth knowing if you are considering a stretched limousine. Although the hotel has parking, the entrance and parking area are tight for long limousines. From our own experience there, the Hummer and other stretched limos are better handled outside rather than trying to use the car park like an ordinary car.

That does not make it a poor limo venue; it simply means the arrival needs to be planned properly. A Phantom or Ghost is a very different size of vehicle, while a 16-seat stretched Hummer needs more room to manoeuvre.

Greenwich Park is also often used for photographs around Blackheath and Greenwich. If you are planning a separate professional photo stop, tell us beforehand so the additional time and any required permissions can be considered.

Prom Car Hire at Tudor Barn, Eltham

Tudor Barn in Eltham is best known to us as a wedding venue, and we attend far more weddings than proms there, but it also hosts proms and other celebrations. It is a particularly attractive setting because the historic building, grounds and mature foliage give students plenty of opportunities for photographs.

This is one of those venues where the surroundings are worth making part of the arrival. A Phantom, Ghost or Silver Cloud looks particularly good against the greenery and historic setting, while the 8-seater Baby Bentley or 16-seater Hummer gives a group the fun of travelling together before they arrive.

There is also a practical point that comes from actually bringing larger vehicles here. The entrance can be quite tight for stretched limousines. For the Hummer and other long limos, we generally find the main road a more sensible drop-off point than trying to manoeuvre a stretched vehicle through the tighter entrance.

We take that into account when planning the booking. A standard-sized Rolls-Royce and a 16-seat Hummer cannot always be treated in exactly the same way, and we would rather use the most sensible arrival point for the vehicle than force every car through the same entrance.

If your prom is at Tudor Barn, tell us whether you want photographs with the car as part of the arrival. The grounds and foliage are one of the reasons people like the venue, so allowing a little time can be worthwhile.

Prom Car Hire at Charlton House & Gardens

Charlton House is another Greenwich venue with a very different character from a hotel or stadium. Its historic house and gardens make it particularly suited to students who want photographs to be part of the prom arrival.

The Old Library is used for proms and celebrations, while the Jacobean building and surrounding grounds give you a strong backdrop for pictures with the car.

If your school has chosen Charlton House, give us the planned guest arrival time rather than only the event start time. That helps us aim for the period when students are actually arriving and the atmosphere outside is at its best.

Other Prom Venues Around Greenwich, Eltham & Woolwich

Greenwich has an unusually varied event landscape, so we also provide prom and celebration transport around Woolwich, Eltham, North Greenwich and the historic town centre.

Venues and event spaces around Woolwich Works and North Greenwich can involve very different arrivals from older properties in Eltham or Blackheath. A venue with plenty of vehicle space may comfortably suit a large Hummer, while a historic or busy central location may be better approached with a Rolls-Royce, V-Class or performance car.

The wider area also includes major heritage and event locations such as the National Maritime Museum, Queen's House, Old Royal Naval College and Greenwich Yacht Club. Not every venue runs school proms every year, so once your school has confirmed the actual location, we can advise on the vehicle and arrival rather than pretending every Greenwich venue works in the same way.

Which Prom Car Should You Choose?

If you want the classic luxury arrival, the Rolls-Royce Phantom and Ghost remain two of the strongest choices. The Cullinan gives you a taller, more modern Rolls-Royce presence, while the Dawn is ideal for someone wanting something more glamorous and distinctive.

For groups, the Gen 2 Baby Bentley limousine carries up to eight passengers and has the newer shape that many customers specifically ask for. The Hummer H2 carries up to sixteen and is the obvious choice when a larger friendship group wants to arrive together.

For something sportier, the gunmetallic Lamborghini Urus, Nissan GTR and Toyota Supra MK4 create a completely different prom look. The Mercedes V-Class is the more understated choice when travelling together comfortably matters more than making the car itself the centre of attention.

One Hour or Return Prom Hire?

For most Greenwich proms, one hour is enough. It allows time for collection, sensible photographs before leaving and the journey to the venue without paying for a car to sit unused all evening.

If you also want collecting after the prom, our return option allows up to five hours between the outward journey and pickup. This can be useful where parents would rather know the return transport is already arranged.
